Pecos National Historical Park - General Park Information

Pecos preserves 12,000 years of history including the ancient pueblo of Pecos, Colonial Missions, Santa Fe Trail sites, 20th century ranch history of Forked Lightning Ranch, and the site of the Civil War Battle of Glorieta Pass.
For several centuries the Upper Pecos Valley, has been one of those rare places where the impact of geography on human experience is strikingly clear.

Operating Hours & Seasons

Ruins trail and Visitor Center open daily except Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Summer Hours: Memorial Day to Labor Day, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Winter Hours: Labor Day to Memorial Day, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Visitor Center is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during winter hours.

Fees & Reservations

The Recreation Fee Demonstration Program, passed by Congress, has been in existence since 1996. This program is designed to charge fees to visitors to help improve the visitor's experience. Eighty percent of the money collected remains in the parks, and the Director of the National Park Service distributes the remaining 20 percent of the fees collected to special emphasis projects within the parks.

Local Passport - Pecos National Historical Park Pass
$10 - Annual
Details - This pass is good for 12 months and admits pass holder and all accompanying passengers in a private vehicle to Pecos National Historical Park.
